Winter Assembly

On Wednesday, December 14th, Logan County students and faculty filled the gym to watch their talented peers perform. A large variety of talents were presented such as singing, playing instruments, cheerleading/tumbling and color guard.

img_8833Up first was Haley Bilyeu singing “Leave the Pieces” by The Wreckers. Following her performance was Ana Nash playing the piano and singing “She Will Be Loved” by Maroon 5. Hannah Lawrence sang “I Dreamed a Dream” by Les Miserables. Next up, Monica Hines executed an astounding individual gymnastic routine. Janie Tyler and Karyn Kutzman sang an acapella duet mash-up. The sixth performance was by Duncan Sandlin playing the guitar and signing “Difference Maker” by NEEDTOBREATHE. Jaclyn Batchelor sang her new original song named “Granddaughter” and played the piano, leaving everyone in awe. Behind her was a color guard mash-up flag routine keeping everyone mesmerized by the twirling flags. Another duet was performed by Dominique Goin and Lacey Cains singing “Control” by Hasley. Last, but not least, was Gage Cousineau drumming to the cover of “YYZ” by Rush.

img_8858While the judges deliberated over the best three performances, the LCHS Band played classic Christmas songs and the choir sang “Sleigh Ride” to entertain the anxious crowd.

Finishing third was Gage Cousineau’s drum solo; second place was Duncan Sandlin’s singing and guitar playing performance. In first place, with her original song “Granddaughter,” was Jaclyn Batchelor.

Congratulations to all contestants for the courage to perform as well as the excellent performances they showcased.
