This interview was to get an inside feel from the players on the football game that took place Friday night against Butler County. Lorenzo Garcia had a great deal of highlights in the game. Instead of talking about himself, Garcia chose to speak about his team, stating, “This is about me? I’m not trying to be disrespectful, but if ya’ll interview me, can it not be just about me but my team as well?”

Garcia was asked what he felt his team needed to work on in order to be more successful in the future. “We need to come out more aggressive on offense,” he stated. “Our defense started off pretty good, but we had [players] four in, four out. Our offense came out and threw in a pick right off the bat and that can’t happen. Next time that’s something we need to work on.”

Throughout the interview, Garcia kept using “we” instead of “I” or “he,” endeavoring to help others overcome their weaknesses as well as his own.

When asked what the fans should look forward to in the coming games, Garcia focused on “Us coming together.  We didn’t have a very good game. Everybody is doubting us about what happened Friday and they think it’s going to be the same as last year. I’m still confident it’s not going to be like last year, and we are going to be successful.”

Garcia was asked what the overall highlight of the game would be, and his demeanor brightened up and he answered jokingly, “The overall highlight of the game was… celebration, when we scored. My highlight of the game would probably be when I tackled Rex.” After this statement Garcia showed us a video of his “famous” highlight.
